Was better in the old days, when men had mens handicaps

The new handicap system has made things worse.

Dunno

I shot a few decent rds this year and got me hole cut asunder.

If a fella turned up with a 22 handicap he’d be told to fuck off for himself.

Jokeshop stuff. Able bodied men started off with 18 and worked their way out, usually by the time they hit the 20s, they started coming rapidly down the handicap.

Yeah but the (usually retired) lads playing every day of the week handing in 25 points in normal weekly stablefords and then going around winning with societies, golf classics or shooting 40 points or more when playing in the more prestigious events are still very much duking the system.

Errah, if they re that desperate for a prize leave them off. If players dont play the handicap system in the spirit its supposed to incorporate, whats the point of the handicap TBH.

This is outstanding value.

I mentioned it before… unbelievable

The only way to play those three days is early tee time the first day, into the harbour bar drink as much as you can home for 8 or 9 and wake up and have a large glass of whiskey and rinse and repeat

When you look at how much green fees are for Ballybunion its a no brainer. Its a trek but can get accommodation for a fairly reasonable price and might be a bit more going on in the evening time if you fancy a few pints like you said.

Played a three course challenge ip there a few years ago ballyliffen, Port rush and portstewart…100 quid a day…serious value
