Ben Elton
Time and Time again is very good

I found Milkman very hard work, like Solar Bones, the opposite of easy reading, not what I’d want for a holiday, but mouse is a real intellectual so it’d be no bothers for him.
The sports book with tne nice cover is a great read @anon61878697
Monsters (1985 Bears book with a lot of NFL history) is the best football book I’ve read in recent years, recently read a good one on Maddens Raiders but I forget the name

I loved that, Time Travel is always a winner, did you ever read the Kate Atkinson book ‘Life after life’? Not strictly time travel but a very good book if you enjoyed Elton’s

Is there no Internet at this villa?

Solar Bones is very good as well and so is from From a low and quiet sea.

Not read it. Must check it out. Elton’s other book I read Two Brothers is also very good

A very underrated author due to his being a fairly annoying cunt in real life, I’ve really liked the few books of his I’ve read, I have a credit for audible and think I’ll spend it on that Two Brothers book

Just into it,as in he’s in it stanbul:+1:nice ,I’m into fantasy, time travel, star trek etc,so I guess I’m easily pleased , TBH I’d read anything bar heavy mundane shite

I’ve just started Anthony Beevors Arnhem. I’ll keep the forum posted. I’ve the attention span of a goldfish these days though so it could take me a month to get through. Used to read a book of its caliber in a week handy, in a day sometimes if the mood struck. I think the internet has turned my brain to mush

Beevor is a very stodgy writer so it will probably take you longer.

I flew threw Stalingrad and Berlin, struggled through d-day and started the war in Spain 3 or 4 times and had to give up. Too many factions I couldn’t keep it straight in my head

I bought his one on Crete too. I might have finished I can’t remember to be honest. I definitely read most of it :joy:

I’m flying through ‘when all is said’ by Anne Griffin, a lovely book

Just finished “Stoner” by John Williams, and enjoyed it a lot more than I expected.
