Ryler and Wardy.
Barry Davies is making a one-off return to the commentary box this Saturday to mark 50 years of Match of the Day.
What a pity it’s not a permanent return.
Peter Brackley
Gary Bloom
Good to hear that, always liked Davies as a commentator, Moore too. The current BBC crop just seem to blend into the other and are all poor. Hamilton is alright, wouldn’t be the worst by a long stretch.
Maloney is the best for GAA, like Mcintyre as well. Canning is a fairly unpopular one but tbh I find Marty far more repulsive, genuinely cannot abide the shite he comes out with. Have met both and it’s clear which one laps up attention more.
Someone mentioned Jimmy Smyth above, how the BBC think Mark Sidebottom is a worthy successor is a mystery. Awful doesn’t quite describe it.
Always remember Davies’ commentary for Gascoigne’s FA Cup semi-final freekick goal for Spurs v Arsenal in 1991 for some reason.
Schoolboy’s own stuff.

Seaman should have saved it.

RTE’s radio commentary for GAA is brutal
Morrissey is a deplorable deviant with a very poor knowledge of the game and just churns out cliche laden dirge. Brian Carthy is only good for comic effect.
Adrian Eames is ok to be fair
agreed on Dave Mcintyre and Darragh Maloney
The best football commentator is Mike Ingham on Five Live
on BBC radio 4 Henry Bloefeld , Jonathon Agnew and Phil Tufnell are sublime
The anecdotes and vernacular used are of the highest standard

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news for you but he has retired from commentary.
Retired after the World Cup, and agreed he was a good commentator.
Al Bernstein and Paulie Malignaggi on Showtime boxing.

morrisey is a vile vile person, the start of the tipp cork game went along the lines of
man city man utd, barca real, ali Fraser, all great rivalries but nothing tops Tipp vs Cork
Lovely interview with the wonderful Peter Alliss on Off The Ball there. He says he feels it would be appropriate to retire after this year’s Open but will see what kind of mood he’s in at the time before definitively deciding.
I was just doing up a list of my 100 favourite commentators ever a couple of weeks back and he’s in my top three.
Fucking joke of a decision there. Gerrard got the ball.

I dislike him quite, quite a lot.
