Good movie. The riot scene at the start is brilliantly done.
Is it pro or anti RA?
Sits on the fence i would say. The Ra certainly don’t come out of it looking worse than the other side IMO.
+1 Watched it last week with the missus. Have you listened to Amy Schumer’s stand-up album. It’s pretty damn good.
Schumer is superb.
If you like her stand-up, check out her ex. Anthony Jeselnik is unrale funny.
Yeah check out her sketch show, think it’s called ‘Being Amy Schumer’. Some funny shit in there. All her jokes are invariably about sex.
It’s not sympathetic to anyone really, with the exception of the occasional civilian.
How are you supposed to know who are the goodies & the baddies then?
She actually is pretty good. One of the only genuinely funny female stand-ups I’ve ever seen.
Just re-watched The Last of the Mohicans. How good was that ending scene? Brutality, pity, love, despair, vengance. It had it all - shot in the Blue Ridge Mountains and played out with Dougie McLean’s “The Gael” pounding in the background. Moved to tears lads. Moved to bloody tears.
Michael Mann has made some excellent movies - including The Insider, Heat and Thief - but if there’s a better one than The Last of the Mohicans, I’ve yet to see it.
Thats a masterpiece of a film.
Black Mass is absolute quality. One of the better ones I’ve seen this year.
Landry from Friday Night Lights
It’s ok i didn’t find it as great as you. I preferred the Jobs movie actually which i thought was brilliant (if you had an interest and knew the back story well about Jobs).
Black Mass was rather disappointing. Skipped over a lot and the FBI guy was a real ham fisted job. Could have been a lot better. Watchable, nothing more
I enjoyed Mad Max fury road, much more than I thought I would. Great excitement, The wives were all crackers. The flame throwing guitar guy and drummers were a highlight.
Watched Still Alice last night
An excellent movie and performance from Julie Anne Moore. A harrowing portrayal of a woman with early onset Alzheimers
I see Julianne is in a new Coen Brothers film along with Matt Damon and Josh Brolin. Directed by George Clooney.
Suburbicon - worth waiting for…
I saw Southpaw over the weekend.
Not a bad few hours but the whole thing is almost a parody of a boxing film. Every cliche you could imagine.
Down on his luck boxer meets down on his luck trainer and they rebuild each other.
The lead guys name was even Hope FFS.
There was a scene in it that could only remind me of this

I actually burst out laughing at it and it was supposed to be some sort of touching scene.
All that said it was watchable, and Gyllenhaal was very impressive in it. Got himself in serious shape.
Gyllenhall is insufferable and his overacting was really annoying.
