Good Fillums

The soundtrack is magnificent. A much underrated gem of a movie.

Never won.

Carrey and Harris had won Golden Globes for best actor and best supporting actor. Carrey didn’t even get a nomination for an Oscar that year (somewhat unprecedented for someone winning the GG outright)

Watched the first half of Westworld last night. Will watch the rest at an undetermined point in the future

Carrrey was brilliantly cast. A very ‘zany’ actor to hold up the entertainment side of the show along with a much more downplayed human side to him, unlike the majority of his other films up to that point. He played it perfectly.

Harris is excellent also but he has little screen time.

I think that, along with Eternal Sunshine…, are Carrey’s best performances.

It was a film that took a good while to get made. They had considered Robin Williams for the Truman character at one stage. Denis Hopper actually did land the Harris role but they ditched him after a few days

The Jim Carrey doc on Netflix where Rey go behind the scenes with his method portrayal of Andy Kauffman is a great of sometimes uncomfortable watch. Carrey is a superb comic actor

The one thing you’d say about Carrey is that he never phones it in. His performance in the much underrated and sadly never following up Lemony Snicket is incredible.

He seems genuinely unhinged whenever I’ve seen him interviewed.

imagine what hed have been able to do with the role if given the time and budget that NPH got

i thought he was at his best as andy kaufman. which was criminally overlooked

this is what happens when you hook up with a tipp bird

Watching Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid here.

One of the best all time endings, that’s how you fade out a movie. Drags a bit down in Bolivia but the climax saves it.

Quite a misogynistic film through the lens of hindsight.

That’s the way it was back then

Watching the Quiet Man now.

Here’s a stick to beat the lovely lady
