She’s from Thurles
She sounded a lot like a girl I know from up around Borrisokane, it didn’t seem like they were trying for a particular accent in the movie, sure it’s all the one outside of Ireland
She’s been in lots of things, mostly without an Irish accent (Three Billboards…, Better Call Saul, etc )
I really enjoyed Banshees but while a good actor I thought Keoghan’s performance is very overrated. Basically just a younger version of The Bird.
For me, Colin Farrell’s performance is by a millions miles the best in the film. Followed by the sister
The missus asked me why Farrell always plays the same Irish godhelpus in every film.
Farrell has the every man down to a tee. His resurrection in Hollywood has been everything his acscent wasn’t. Humble, understated and underrated. He’s a Jimmy Stewart for the modern age.
Farrell and Condon carried the movie along, their characters the only ones with any range of emotion. The dialog wasn’t in any way captivating or interesting, maybe intentionally.
Gleesons character didn’t stretch him or allow him any range at all.
Keoghan overacted in every scene and his accent was terrible. As i said, it caused me to turn off the show, i hadn’t much interest as it was but that performance sealed it
Yeah it’s lovely. It’s the new Snowman. Charlie Macksey epitomises an alrigh sorry.
By god…our very own Barry Norman …
Agree with all of that.
I thought it was a very good movie and captures island life well.
What in the name of jaysus would you know about island life?
the island field
Does he even have one in his kitchen?
Ive spent a lot of time on Inis Meain. One of my close friends is from there… They’re all as odd as two left feet. The family own Teach Synge if youre ever over.
But you didn’t watch the movie?
Roger Moore giving a tour de France in ‘The spy who loved me’ here.
He knows a lad
A wan actually.
I was starting into doing a rewatch of the Bond series as they were all on Prime. The bastards removed them when I was halfway through Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
Ray Donovan too? which I was surprised at not ever hearing about before.
