Good Fillums

Stallone is after flying kicking his way out of the police station there. Unreal stuff.

Only time in my youth I saw my aul lad cry was the ending of that film.

I thought the acting was great over all. Farrell being the best.
Great to see Jon Kenny back. Haven’t seen or heard of him in a while. Barely recognised him.
But that clip with Pat Short and the three of them talking at the bar counter is a pure classic.

Couldn’t find it on YouTube unfortunately.

Love the “How do” introduction they do in rural ireland

Also love the “hows the despair” greeting they say to each other out wesht too

Poor auld Rodger Moore is getting the shit kicked of him for a solid half hour here on RTE2. A great Bond.

One in the pink, two in the stink.

Watched the Banshees of Inisherin there this morning. Enjoyed it. In fairness I enjoyed more the bits before it turned very black but in the round I still enjoyed it. A very good representation of island life. I thought the four main protagonists, Colm, Padraig, Siobhan and Dominic were played beautifully. Jenny was also very good.

As an aside I watched the credits to the end and noted that Brendan Gleeson wrote and performed the song “the Banshees of Inisherin” played in the film. Talented chap.

That auld cunt in the Post Office. Did every village & town in Ireland have someone like her? They had the same type of character in Brooklyn too.

I think a good few of the post mistresses would have operated those telephone switchboards and connected calls for people in the old days as well as doing the telegrams so they would have been privy to all the goings on. You can be sure many of them would have been cut from the same cloth.
