Grand National

What are we on for the 4m4f marathon tomorrow?

I’ll be backing Dun Doire and have got McKelvey in the office sweep - here’s hoping

Re: calling Farmer

Few things going on there raven:

  1. Property speculators - presumably you are saying that these people do not want to actually live in Leitrim and are engaging in these transactions purely for the sake of capital appreciation. I am not best pleased about it but can I do anything? What do you propose doing?

  2. This point is addressed more to dancingbaby, whom I am guessing is thinking of buying a house in Leitrim. If people intend on spending time in Leitrim - any time - which I believe DB does, then I would welcome them with open arms. Its refreshing to see people wanting to live in my county - even if that drives up prices. To hold any other type of view is frankly xenophobic

Re: calling Farmer

Greetings Farmer…dont mind that Raven lad - hes a raven looper at the best of times.

i have purchased some bricks and mortar in carrick and intend spending many a weekend down there so i am delighted to hear i would get a Cead Mile Failte from you.

big game on sunday…pity they didnt rack up a bigger win against london. it could come back to haunt them

Re: calling Farmer

I’m not sure if scoring difference is still the way the places are going to be decided DB. Heard Des Dolan on Shannonside last week when I was at home giving out about the GAA for changing the rules before the last game and introducing play-offs for teams on equal points for Division 2A only. Then I was listening to the game and they started talking about scoring difference again. If the fuckers changed the rules like Dolan said then the GAA has reached a new low

I was happy to come out of London with a victory to be honest. They’re difficult enough of a propositionin Ruislip and lead for most of the game. Nervous enough about our Championship opener against them over there

PS I’ve learned to live with Raven now - he has a different outlook on things but is entitled to

Re: calling Farmer

Its very complicated alright Farmer but scoring difference wont be used if Offaly or Longford finish level with anyone - there will be play offs. The reason for this is that Offaly used a banger in their drawn game with Longford. Subsequently Longford were awarded both points. Anyway, I think I’ve worked out the permutations from a Leitrim point of view.

From a Leitrim point of view, it reads like this :

IF LEITRIM BEAT MONAGHAN AND…

Roscummon beat Offaly both teams will be on 10 points. It will come down to scoring difference. It means Leitrim must win by 5 points more than Roscummon to go into Division 2 next year. Otherwise, it will be a place in division 3.

Roscummon lose or draw then Leitrim will go straight into Division 2 with Monaghan, Dublin, Cork, Westmeath, Armagh, Cavan and Meath.

Roscummon draw with Offaly and Longford draw with Clare then Leitrim willl finish 2nd with Roscummon 3rd and playoffs will be required to separate Clare, Longford and Offaly.

IF LEITRIM DRAW WITH MONAGHAN AND…

Roscummon win or draw then Leitrim finish 3rd and go into Division 3 next year.

Roscummon lose then Leitrim win promotion to Division 2

Roscummon draw with Offaly and Longford draw with Clare then Roscummon will finish 2nd, Leitrim 3rd and playoffs will be required to separate Longford, Clare and Offaly.

IF LEITRIM LOSE AND…

Roscummon and Clare win then Roscummon would get promoted and Leitrim and Clare would go into Division 3 with Limerick, Fermanagh, Louth, Down, Wexford and Sligo leaving Offaly and Longford in Division 4.

Roscummon and Clare lose then it would become a bit of a nightmare scenario because Leitrim would be level on points with Roscummon, Offaly and Longford and facing into playoffs to decide who goes into Divisions 2,3,4.

Roscummon lose and Clare win then it would be the same as above but this time involving Leitrim, Roscummon,Offaly and Clare. As mentioned beforehand scoring difference cannot be used for any team level with either Longford or Offaly as their game was decided in the appeal room.

Roscummon and Longford both draw then Leitrim will finish 3rd with Roscummon 2nd and playoffs needed to separate Clare, Longford and Offaly.

Longford draw and Offaly win then Leitrim,Roscummon and Offaly will be tied for 2nd place and playoffs will be required to determine the remaining place in Division 2 and the 2 remaining places in Division 3 with Clare,Longford,Carlow and London heading for Division 4.

Roscummon draw and Longford win then Leitrim will finish 4th,Longford 3rd,Roscummon 2nd and Monaghan 1st

Longford and Roscummon win then Leitrim and Longford will playoff for the remaining place in Division 3 with the defeated team playing in the Tommy Murphy Cup and Division 4 next year.

Clare and Roscummon win then Monaghan and Roscummon will play in Division 2 next year with Leitrim and Clare in Division 3 and Longford,Carlow,Offaly and London in Division 4.

Actually its not that complicated at all !!!

LIATROIM ABU !!!

Re: calling Farmer

Some good work there DB

I’ll have that post open tomorrow

Re: calling Farmer

Met a lovely girl from Ballinamore last night. She’d be a perfect match for farmer with the whole Leitrim connection. Michelle was her name and a fine pair of child raring hips she had on her too.

Re: calling Farmer

Did you ask her if she has any land coming to her?

Met a girl from Wexford last night actually. Tinnion’s debs date who I believe Bandage and myself met during last summer randomly. Tinnion introduced her to me last night. I said that I had met her before during the summer outside Coppers. Then she says with a sarcastic tone - ‘Oh yeah I remember that’ (as in she didnt)

Don’t feel bad any more getting her number from Tinnion and bombarding her with vile and abusive texts

Re: calling Farmer

So it’s this one is it?

Re: calling Farmer

Don’t think that’s right. This is the way the table stands

Monaghan 14
Roscommon 10
Leitrim 8
Longford 8
Offaly 6
Clare 6
Carlow 2
London 2

Monaghan and Roscummon into Division 2
Leitrim and Longford into Division 3
Rest into Division 4

Fuck it anyway. We lost by a point and Roscummon got a pile of goals as they tend to do. Still main thing was to avoid Division 4 and I think we have done that

Re: calling Farmer

the amount of work i put into that and i make a balls of it !!!

happy enough with a top 4 finish. i can see thefreekick.com doing an official trip to Wexford vs Leitrim in next years league !!

hopefully it will be in Carrick…dont think i could take a day out in wexford

Re: calling Farmer

Yeah it was highly impressive work Baby, right up until the point where it all fell apart at the seams when the results came in.

Re: calling Farmer

Hang your head, baby.
