Are you mad? They probably sense it more than anone. Their feeling and awareness would surpass most elite athletes due to the fact they are blind.

Have you worked with blind people? Awareness of other things does not always increase to compensate for lack of sight, I fact it can be diminished because of lack of sight.
Yip i have. Of course i may be just influenced by my experience. Have no great research done in it.
However i would theorize these athletes would have superb awareness. Thats an assumption though.

They might when specialised in one task. My experience of blind people, and one in particular, is that lack of sight desensitises them to things we pay take for granted to pay attention to. That would vary too between people blind from birth, or people who later lost their sight who have a greater understanding of how everyone else perceive things.

Its an interesting area. My general, but limited knowledge or real understanding, perception would have been that loss of one sense enhanced another or others.
Yeah that’s the general perception. Maybe coming from fiction? It’s not my experience as I said.
As with most things its probably in the middle and gray as opposed to b&w and also highly induvidual.

As the only person on TFK qualified to speak about this, I can tell you that I have had no increased functioning of other senses since I lost the sight in one of my eyes and if anything, my depth perception for example has decreased. I am fucking hopeless at catching a ball now.
