I remember going to see the Zoo TV tour in Dublin in 1993. Wasn’t a huge fan Of them and wasn’t expecting a whole pile but was blown away by it.

Best concert I ever saw. Even now nearly 30 years later what they did on that looks incredible. They sold out every night of that tour and still lost money on it.

America’s first punk band, a year before the Ramones and Patti Smith etc. Album took 3 years to release, fucking around with perfection, one of the few bands to fire Brian Eno. This is the pinnacle of that era, Verlaine’s soloing is off the wall.
