Iāll see you Roger waters & Eddie bedder and Iāll raise you Dave gilmour & Bowie
Out of their fucking minds.
I love you Bro.
Took the kids and herself to Christy Moore last night at the Bridgewater Hall. Iāve seen him a good few times. The first time was in leisureland in galway and my brother took me. Tickets were Ā£4. I must have been 12 or 13 and it was my first ever live gig. He was on his own and he blew me away. Before the Deluge, it was the first time Iād ever heard it, and it remains my favourite song to this day. Since them Iāve seen him all over, alone, or with declan sinnott. Since that night, Iāve always swung between slightly and very disappointed. He was either off form, or grumpy, and nearly caused a riot in liverpool one night acting the bollox, so I wasnāt expecting much, and herself wasnāt really looking forward to it having been dragged along by me a couple of times before to an agitated atmosphere and a show which seemed primarily to minimise outlay and maximise revenue.
Last night though he had sinnott, Jimmy Higgins on percussion, drums and keyboards, and another lad on fiddle and banjo, and he was absolutely magic, culminating in an absolutely brilliant encore of āno time for love if they come in the morningā (sound of the sirens??), my second favourite Christy song.
It was musically brilliant, and he dealt good naturedly with a blazing hot bank holiday crowd including screaming nordies by the dozen behaving as they always do.
It was fantastic. Herself finally got to see what he can do, and my lad was absolutely transfixed.
Great night.
Catch this tour if you can. Heās at his peak.
Does he still have a ban on liquor during the set? The auld cunt.
And a ban on talking and singing and clapping and moving. Fuck off ya miserable oul dipso cunt.
Thatās the odd thing. I think heās off the drink. I saw him one night start ranting at people singing, another that they werenāt. He was encouraging it the last night.
Still has a drink ban. Just as well given the night that was in it. Half the crowd were staggering. The Bridgewater Hall is a lovely venue BTW.
Did he play āThe Delugeā?
He didnāt the fat fucker.
