Similar to that I try to use them as much as possible after they refunded me after getting ripped off buying weights at the start of lockdown. Ebay were as much use as tits on a bull but PayPal rode to the rescue.
Why would people not use PayPal any more ? I use it all the time. Is there a new thing?

I used a combination of Revolut and PayPal to buy something today
Where PayPal have really lost ground is in the econmerce side. Stripe are killing them. I’ve integrated both into websites and PayPal is a ball of shit compared to Stripe.

Hard to spend money in a lockdown. The level of household savings went up.

They’re looking to recoup all of that now. QE over the last 10 years was always going to end in a nasty manner on top of that.
Inflation at 7 or 8 percent. Most of that is price gouging and greed too.
Will be interesting to see where the ECB go in terms of interest rates.

Think they’re handling the Ukrainian refugees as well so that could account for some of it.
I only caught the tail end of it on Radio 1 but so far it’s up 20% on last year and 1 in 3 calls were in relation to food poverty… Food being sacrificed to meet rent and bills. Not sure many Ukrainians are caught in that loop yet.

There’s no magic money tree according to FFG in response to dealing with current cost of living and housing crisis… But they’re gearing up to pay 8 billion a year to be a member of NATO
