Green Shoots - How Michael Noonan ended the recession

Inflation is going to put huge pressure on government to increase public sector pay and social welfare

Sinn Fein are already calling for it.

It’s like adding fuel to a house fire while interest rate increases try and throw water on it

Fuel poverty is going to be a real thing this winter for a lot of people

That’s a fact, restraint in that respect while politically counterproductive is the only way to go to in order to limit the damage and regain competitiveness as a society and economy as quickly as possible

They didnt help but I think this was coming anyway though. Only so long the central banks could keep propping up everything up.

The financial system was on life support pre covid even really. The magic money tree was the ending of it.

Negative interest rates was batshit too.

If everyone says there’s a recession coming, then there isn’t a recession coming

The government could drop the tax on home heating oil etc but can they do that realistically with the carbon targets and pressure from the Green party.

They might have to if as you say fuel poverty gets absolutely real next winter though.

You can’t have people freezing to death either in their houses. Particularly the elderly. Or can you?

Why not take the 8 billion they want to give NATO and build more fucking houses. Throw some of it at encouring apprenticeships while you’re at it and another chunk at improving public transport. You can also identify where there’s a serious lack of talent in highly skilled jobs and offer free masters programs over the 5 years etc etc… 8 billion to NATO

100%.

An aul C rating never did me any harm, mate.

I’ll cut down a few trees anyway if I have to.

Not native to Ireland either. Terrible for the environment

If we say it enough will it stop the recession?

Would need it for the green fixed rate. Few gaffs recently sold have it but the boiler is due a service. How material is the boiler to the BER apart from being made up of 50% of its letters?

I wonder will the general publics mortgage interest rate eventually be determined on the ESG or SDG rating of their property?

Can i boost mine with rainbow and ukraine flags next to my Limerick flag?
