Green Shoots - How Michael Noonan ended the recession

I noticed Renards opened this evening. Mind you it looked empty.

Anyway, no Robbie, no party. I wonder what became of Fox?

OPened the place above recently. Cant see it lasting too long.

Definitely a green shoot with NAMA sale of about 25% of vacant office space in Dublin to google. Good to see them putting down roots here. Good result for the much maligned NAMA too. I firmly belive that in 2012/13 when we look back we will see late 2010 as the turning point back in the right direction.

Five more years!

Ya think? Im a bit more optimistic. We were 18 months into the downside before we realised it, I am fairly certain we wil overshoot the negativity just as easily. Few things going on that would give me a lot of comfort.

The agri-food sector is really keeping Ireland going. I’ve hated farmers and boggers for years but these despicable bastards are doing their country some service. Well done turfcutter et al.

Agree. Saw something on tv there earlier and Kerry Group sell 1 m packetso f those cheese string a week in France! Fuckin hell!

I 'm involved in a small Energy Consultancy business partime here in Galway… we just had the busiest month since 2007! Nearly enough coming through the books to belt off at it full time again.

60-70 hour weeks for the last 6 weeks, fit to fall.

There is a quiet revolution about to emerge in greyhound racing. Believe it or not, the Chinese are getting into the game and have come to Ireland to see how to do it right as we are the world leaders. We will be shipping a slew of dogs to China within a few years, this will be great news for the rural economies of West Limerick, Co Kerry, Co Tipperary in particular.

I meant ‘five more years’ in a waving small little flags amercian election type of way. Maybe FF were on the right track all along. Poor old Biffo cut down in his prime.

A slew of dogs or a stew of dogs? Maybe both?

I’d have no objection to them importing dogs for whatever they want. Dogs are livestock as far as I’m concerned.

Brendan Smith will want to stick yellow tags on their ears if he hears you’d class them as livestock!

I had a dog they could have used for a stew…

Funny you say that because I had considered saying earlier that you’d make a fortune in the dog stew business. I hope it never comes to that Dunph.

A worldwide online poker company announced 100 news jobs in South Dublin about 2 weeks ago and there was ne’er a mention of it on any Irish media outlets but yet all the gaming publications covered it.

Did they bother sending a press release? I’d say FF would have lapped it up.

I would presume they would have if the main worldwide gaming magazines knew about it. Surprised RTE or the Irish Racing Post didn’t pick up on it somehow.

Tip your hat the next time you see a farmer

What sort of jobs were they Mac, in IT i presume?
