Think they said Customer Service and IT Dunph.
I heard of a girl who got a job today.
There’s plenty of jobs out there.
Where are they?
Plenty of work out there for a girl who isn’t afraid to get her hands and knees dirty.
Around the place.
Plenty of jobs for accountants. There’s a few of the big aircraft leasing and finance companies in Shannon who are constantly hiring.
Dell in Limerick are also recruiting constantly.
There is great grass growth
Very poor growth in the rough on the golf club turfcutter.
Calves are making great prices, week old polly heifers are making €170 (they were making €70 last year), bad cull cows with no scope for fattening are making all Ireland prices, lambs and sheep in general are scarce. Grass is plentiful. Fellas have dozens of bales left over from last year. Greyhounds are being readied for the Chinese market. Once Gaddafi wins back contol of Libyan meat factories, continenal steers will be going through the roof.
Announcing a few jobs is a great way to get national press coverage for your company. Some crowd in Cork featured as the 2nd or 3rd story on every news bulletin last week with the announcement that were creating 14 new jobs over 4 years
Indeed. Another thing with these announcements is that they often simply involve operations being merged into one facility / plant / office and the ‘additional’ jobs involve people relocating from the unit that’s shutting down. Others won’t relocate and they’ll be replaced by new people that are suited to the location but the net job effect is nil. That’s a generalisation but I’ve seen it happen a few times.
Generalisations and sweeping statements are fine by me.
All Cork people are wankers.
that hurts runt
Michael Dell is due in Limerick today to make an announcement.
These head honchos don’t turn up with it’s bad news.
I had heard months back there was a few hundred jobs being planned for the plant so hopefully it turns out to be true.
Turned out to be a load of bollix, where he only gave a bit of a speech.
But in better news it looks like we could be out of recession by the end of the year
Financial expert Eddie Hobbs has said the recession could last another five to 10 years.
Forecasts for economic growth from numerous sources show growth of less than 1% in the Irish economy this year and next.
Tax increases and additional household charges are likely to impact on economic growth by removing cash from the wider economy
Speaking to Kfm, Eddie Hobbs said it will be 2016, at the earliest, before Ireland emerged from recession.
“The last long bear market was 1969 to 1982. The one before that was 1929 to 1949 so 15 to 20 years seems to be the range,” he said.
“We’re 10 years into this one, so my best assessment is that we’re probably going to spend another five to 10 years in this.”
We’re not ten years into a recession, 3-4 years i’d have thought?
Do people here know a lot of people who are unemployed and genuinely* looking for work?
*Willing to change career, location etc.
I can’t think of anyone I know thats still out of work and still in the country. I know a few lads lazy as fuck alright who aren’t even trying/ are unemployable… but other than that. Even a lad I know who was an Electronic Engineer and wouldn’t leave Kerry got a job there recently in Liebher (Crane Crowd).
Hobbs, wanker and all that he is, has been right about most things runt.
Yeah those apartments he was peddling in the Cape Verde Islands back in 2007 have turned out to be a top notch investment…
Not to mention his property investment fund that he was hawking around the country
