Greyhounds Matters 🐐 - Supporting Rural Ireland

Who would you have your money on now to win it out? Oaks and Derby… Are there any dogs you’d recommend backing at a decent price. I’d like to back something outright tomorrow, purely for the bit of interest. If i was down there today i’d have backed Rushing and Kerry Calling, both at good prices. I suspect Rushing won’t be much of a price now…

Here’s a rundown on the days action from the racing post. I’ll get back to you in a little while on the dogs to back, i want to check my notes from today and look at the prices.

I think Helens Diva could be worth a few quid in the Oaks at 10s, She was the the best bitch out of slips today imo, she should come out of her quarter anyway and she didn’t get too much work today.

I have backed Brazing Serpent in the Derby, and I’ll be sticking with him, I see him at 10s with Boyles still which is a backable price.

FAO Dunph

Don’t forget your hip flask tomorrow.

FAO Dunph, be sure to make yourself known at an early stage tomorrow. I might be too boozed to recognise you if you leave it too late!

Best of luck in Clonmel, you mad bastards. :pint:

Your in great form tonight Bandage, has something happened?

I’ll be fairly boozed myself before long i’d say! I presume ye’re all going to the track then tomorrow evening as well?

I should be easily spotted at the coursing. I’ll be in a group of 3-4 and we’ll be at the main bar for extended periods. I’ll be wearing a flat cap so you can’t miss me. sid waddell will be with me…

Can someone sponsor a web enabled phone / iphone for Dunph so he can post instant updates up here with his first experience of Clonmel?

I’d be prepared yo do a podcast…

Are you going to the coursing Mac? I’ll have to buy you a lemonade if i see you…

Work has dictated that I won’t be in Clonmel Dunph. I’ll be there in spirit though. I’ve sent some money down to Limerick with a bus driver for Rintintin - he can buy you a drink out of that for me.

Runt is meeting the bus driver as I will be leaving early, therefore I don’t expect the money to make it more than 50 yards from the Bus/Railway station.

The money is already en route, if he hasn’t already arrived. Mary Peaches will mind it until you can pick it up.

I have been informed that Rintintin is more likely to be seen frittering money away in the casino than in the short odds at the coursing over the coming days…

Sorry mac do you mind changing ur quote as i put a bit of a slip in it :frowning:

What quote?

Exactly

I accumulate, you are correct about the short odds though, never back them.

Day about to get going in anger…

The derby is hotting up to be a classic one. I was onto a clock man last night and he has slightly longer clocks than the ray timing, and they paint a very different picture. The son of Rith Gan Gaisce is the one they have to beat, a dog witha massive stride that eats ground just liek his mother did up the same hill. After winning his TS in Knockgraffon the lenght of the field wont bother him at all…

Mucky Eamon will have a bye this morning which will ease things for him before a probable afternoon meeting with the gambel, Wilton Herald. Other possibel afternoo buckles of note in the Derby will be Stiff Test -v- Brazing serpant and Pevalence v March Is On, bith will make the winners proper contenders.

Adios Alonso whould have it all his own way today with the Likely Treble to only one that could possible give him a fright.

In the Oaks Lady Nimble -v- Go Nina was shaping up to be a goon one, but Go Nina dont gallop great yesterday and is possibly hurt. At the end of today I expect Lucna Glory, Lady Nimle and Rushing to be still standing and to be strong contenders. I fear the Needham Time may have run her final yesterday and while she she have no issue this morning, Latest Gamble could catch her this afternoon.

God speed all.

Best of luck HB. You might spot us in the bar.
