Edouard and Griffiths are in great form.
Celtic are a completely different team with an in form Edouard.
Ggrrrriiifffiiittthhhssssss
He’s one of their secondary EPL co-commentators. Must be knocking around Scotland for Christmas and roped in today with Walker doing the Sevco game earlier.
Griffiths and Edouard really dovetail well as a pair. This is reminiscent of how they played between Christmas and the lockdown last March. Celtic used a 3-5-2 to get them on the pitch together last season but the centre backs have been all over the place when we’ve used it this season (albeit with alternative strike pairings). Would you use this diamond, 3-5-2 or what at Ibrox next week, bhoys?
I’d do a diamond.
I also think we have enough strikers that look better in a pair. Obviously it’s an easier role as one of two but it suits Ajeti and Klimala too to be playing alongside someone. Griffiths and Ajeti are penalty box strikers, Edouard likes to play deeper and Klimala is your guy to do the running beside an Ajeti or Griffiths.
It also gives us 4 in midfield which is no harm. Concern is obviously on the width. Do we have enough in attack and do we risk Christie and McGregor getting dragged wide to mark their wingers and then leaving us short on the middle?
As ever it’s a big ask for the full backs to cope with their wingers and their full backs. But I still think it’s the best balance for our team and we have full backs with energy anyway, so it’s a question of tactical discipline as much as anything.

Turnbull has had one or two sloppy touches today but I like his positioning. He gets into good positions and his shooting is more composed than Christie who blasts the ball every time he gets sight of goal.
Soro has been a revelation, he breaks up play so, so well in such an understated way and is really composed on the ball.
No surprise that this would be our third clean sheet in a row domestically in games Soro has started.
Ajeti is an absolute carthorse.
