Has anyone noticed Michael D. Higgins?

Galway residents will be familiar with that road, anybody that walks or even drives it will find it incredible that they are planning on developing to that extent before getting the footpath sorted

Michael d’s locale is good enough for millionaire ex presidents…but not up to the standards he demands for ordinary folk.
Is that what we’re being asked to believe?

Anybody who has ever gone for a walk on Circular Road knows the place is treacherous for pedestrians. There’s no footpaths and no bus service up there and pedestrians are literally taking their life in their hands if they need to walk down the Rahoon side of Circular Road. A wider road, footpaths and a bus service and a pedestrian path down into Newcastle should be a prerequisite for any more houses going in there.

But the species of Facebook People we’re plagued with wouldn’t know anything about that and don’t want to.

I was having a lunchtime pint in The Oval about a year ago and the youngish barman who was from Limerick said Michael D. was his landlord in Galway when he was in college and he was the best landlord he ever had. TDH.

Few boys feeling fairly sheepish here

His noble gesture to return his Dáil pension(s) that accrued during his term as Uachtaran are rapidly forgotten.

A few lads here were waiting in the long grass, not realising the long grass is the ditch where they’d be walking with no footpath and a wider road.

Assume if said footpath was built in the morning the Poet would be right behind the development to help house the poor people of ireland?

To paraphrase James Gogarty evidence from many moons ago “would he fuck”

I’d say he would , yes

Why so cynical?

Who did you want to replace him

Yer man that posted a promotional video tweet of himself hitting golf balls into the sea. Remember that clown

I sadly don’t but I’m sure some would consider him a better president than MDH

If there was one decent alternative to him I’d say something but iirc there wasn’t. And let’s be honest, we’d be better off with him than Connolly still

Should be easy enough to establish mdh’s track record in ensuring adequate footpaths? I’m sure this isn’t a cynical ploy to protect his peaceful country retreat.

I remember that too. Almost 56% of the electorate opted for him even if I personally didn’t….

A pretty huge endorsement.

Its tough when you think ‘its on here’ and come out of the line with intent and it just doesn’t happen. Few instances today.

The Michael D klaxon has sounded but notably the Nogra’s aren’t on board.

Headbanger urges are too strong

Anybody who knows that road knows the story, :man_shrugging:

It’s like the lads on the picket today working harder than they would in work
