Hearts v Celtic

Celtic win 2-1

Watch the hurling .

FFS, lads were actually watching Scotch soccerball instead of the Hurling?

And they tell us it makes then more Irish

It means they arent from Munster

And aren’t roasters.

Watched that on a delay just now.

Great win, very mixed performance.

Thought Brown was really good - had his old drive back and he had a few really nice touches. Actually none of the midfield played badly really but it was a bit disappointing how we surrendered the initiative for so long in the second half.

We don’t look as mentally brittle as we did last season (we would not have won that game under Deila I don’t think) but we’re still a bit vulnerable. Astana got a goal out of nothing and it rocked us during the week. We got nervous today too in the second half.

The defence remains the biggest concern. Touré plays really cautiously - and did so at Liverpool too. He gives plenty of throw-ins and corners to the opposition when he’s covering across. It’s not really a weakness but we retain so little confidence from last season that any sort of possession for the opposition in our half has us nervous. And while O’Connell defended well again I thought, he can be a bit panicky with some clearances.

Griffiths was particularly wasteful today but I thought Dembele played well and they’re building an understanding (if Griffiths learns to pass it more).

Smashing to see Sinclair coming off the bench for the winner. That sort of experience for Dembele mid-week and now Sinclair does plenty for team spirit.

And it’s good to see Scottish referees maintaining their usual standards.

I thought Toure was very good and O’Connell was pretty poor.

:open_mouth:

Just having Brendan Rodgers and his world class tactical accum in the dug out will be worth 20+ points extra to Celtic this season. I’d fullybexpect Celtic to be unbeaten in the league at home under him and to pick up 90+ points

Toure will do a great job for us… He’s a real leader too.

Toure, Forrest and Brown were excellent today. Need to get Bitton fit and sign at least one more central midfield player. McGregor and Armstrong are below the requisite standard. Not one of Griffiths’ better games but he did very well for the winner and Dembele will be a powerful signing when he gets fully up to speed. Early days but good to open up a two point gap on our main rivals with Aberdeen being held at home today.
