Holidays in Ireland thread (Laois is for prisoners)

Odd timing alright but apparently the toilets were akin to the toilets in cusack park … pre renovation.

I’d imagine they wouldn’t be too bad all in the new visitor centre which opened in the last what 15 years?

Seen an article about them recently, apparently they were embarrassingly poor.

The Emerald I think.

We had a good week of it. As you and @Julio_Geordio pointed out there is not much in Boolteens but its close to lots of places. We were on Castlegregory Beach one day and Rossbeigh Strand 2 days. Both were beautiful. We did a day each in Killarney and Dingle too. Both bars in Boolteens were still closed but The Anvil reopened on Friday and we had a nice meal there. Myself and Mrs Barnes also had a tremendous meal in Sol y Sombra in Killorglin. It’s a tapas place in an old church. Top drawer and very busy.

It had been years since I was in Kerry but we’ll definitely be back. There can hardly be many more beautiful places in the world. Funnily enough they didn’t have much interest in talkin about football when they heard my melodious accent. Up until 10 years ago every Kerryman I met was mad to talk football!

Its extremely busy in Dingle I’ve been told. What’s it like there this past week @BruidheanChaorthainn? Were there too many folk in bars/restaurants?

It’s busy alright smark. The pubs in town are taking it very seriously. No messing what’s so ever and a lot of the smaller places didn’t even open. I’m in Murphy’s in ballyferriter and it’s perfect. I love it here.

Nothing wrong with it👍

*I’m thinking of switching my week in Glenbeigh to a week in Ardmore instead - It seems like every cunt in Ireland is in Kerry and i’m looking for quiet time - I’m not bothered by pubs, theyre a waste of time and money, but obviously i’ll want a couple of eateries - what’s around Ardmore for food @Fagan_ODowd ?

*i have little to no say here really.

The Cliff House and the White Horse

The hotel in ardmore does great food. Other than that it’s pretty poor for food places

It’s a great bar.

The Cliff House is 5/5 for the Michelin Restaurant 4/5 for the bar food. White Horse would be 3/5.
Push into Dungarvan and you’d have the tannery 4/5 and Eunice Powers fish shop 4/5. It’s a gastronomers delight down that part of the county.

Sound - Now to convince the mrs … we’re getting a house on the beach in Glenbeigh for nothing - we’d have to pay in Ardmore … tho the brother in law’s family own a cottage in Ardmore, it’s booked out tho.

Twee. All you’d need is a toadstool, a stovepipe hat and a clay pipe.
