No one has ever done it.
Good one.
The missuses aul lad does it most years. He loves it.
Thinking of talking a gamble on the weather and heading up to north mayo. Killalla, Enniscrone, Ballina etc.
Achill island is a great spot if you want Mayo.
The beach in Glenbeigh is one of the best in the country. Be mad not to go there with a free gaff. Fuck all food choices in Glenbeigh but plenty in both Cahircveen and Killorglin prob 20 minutes either direction.
Killybegs booked for a fortnight’s time. Hopefully with open pubs and no rain.
Been to Donegal a few times and am aiming to see a lot of the big names: Slieve League, Errigal (climb it weather permitting, Glengesh Pass. Anyone have any other suggestions?
Up around Glencolmcille is heaven in the sunshine, there’s a beach there called MalinBeg, bit of a walk to get there down a big hill that is as good a beach as you’ll get anywhere in the world
Beautiful countryside up there, the hike up Slieve League is tough but well worth it (though you can drive it )
Fintra strand is a good beach
Largy and Annascara waterfalls
Rusty mackerel will hopefully be open
Seafood box in seafood shack van in killybegs harbour.
Narin portnoo… Tipp up if the weather’s good
Great spot, Kerry way above the town, great walks / beach/ horse riding
Not forgetting Valentia
Glenbeigh is a bit boring but it’s beautiful alright. I stayed a few times in a house over looking the water up in the hills. Some view.
Class for peace, but you’re within striking distance of a few great places
Go to the rusty mackerel as Spidey said. I also really enjoyed the national park and castle which is towards top of county
@Bandage would you recommend Monaghan town for one night only?
I have a rescheduled stay in Farnham estate in mid August and would like to mix it up with a night in Monaghan beforehand which I’ve never been to. The Hillgrove looks a bit more modern than the Four Seasons on first viewing.
Monaghan is a great town on a Saturday night but I don’t know what it would be like post-Covid.
Sorry Spidey, I’m not familiar with Monaghan town at all. My area of expertise goes from Carrickmacross over to Magheracloone’s sink hole pitch, back across to Inniskeen and up as far as Castleblayney at a push.
Ardmore is always crowded and full of Cork people. There’s some cracking and much quieter beaches on the Copper Coast side of Dungarvan, Kilmurrin Cove and Kilfarrasy in particular. .
Nuremore it is so #jiving
