- How many of the 32 counties have you set foot in ?
- How many have you done an overnight in ?
Is ther anybodody out there with a full set ?

Seeing as I am going back via Enniskillen then since last September Donegal and Mayo would be the only counties I haven’t passed through. Stayed overnight in Antrim, Derry, Galway, Sligo, Cork, Waterford and obviously Dublin in that period. A combination of leisure, matches, funerals and weddings the reasons.

Fair play to you…but i was thinking more in terms of lifetime visits.
I was talking to somebody last week who had been to every county (which wouldnt be uncommon) but had done an overnight in 31 out of the 32 …only missing out on Longford
That immediately jumped out to me as the one I wouldn’t have done. CentreParcs probably changing that for the majority nowadays

I think I’ve stayed overnight in 24 of the 32 counties. The 8 counties I’ve missed are Armagh, Down, Tyrone, Fermanagh, Leitrim, Louth, Laois and Offaly.

Me and the missus are gonna head for Donegal for the first time at the end of July. 2 nights in Killybegs and then 2 nights close to Malin Head, then a night in Derry City. We have a good pitch tent so came across two campsites for €40 each with good facilities. Still got to book the hotel in Derry, but all in all I think I have it planned right. I want to see as much of the county as possible, and then do the Bogside tour. Having a tent takes the price out of it. Only have to worry about fuel for the car, and the Derry hotel.

I stayed in the Shipquay Hotel which was nice but no parking. Only parking was down the street in a public car park but that worked out ok. Download the RingGo app to pay for parking. Did the Bogside tour. Would recommend

Is there anything else other than the Bogside tour you’d suggest? Donegal seems obvious…Sliabh Liag, Glenveagh, Malin and all those. I’ve always wanted to go to Derry for the history of it.
City hotel is good. The Everglades if you wear your rangers jersey

Was wondering why Everglades is so cheap.
Beaches north of Glemcolmcille (MalinBeg particularly) are some of the best in Ireland

I’m down in Ennis on business today and tomorrow. Took a spin up to the north of the county this evening all around the Burren. Spectacular part of the world. Long time since I was last here.

We are up the north coast for a few days and Ballycastle must be one of the finest gems in the country. Smashing beach, spectacular scenery, places like Kinbane castle nearly an afterthought, full of tourists and yet not a single sign in the town that it is there to bleed the yanks dry. We went into a pub at 3 today for lunch and to get out of the sunshine, there were more locals in there drinking than there would be in our town on a Saturday night. Some fine pubs here too.

I drove through Hacketstown once. As grim a place as I’ve ever seen.
Hopefully it’s better now.
It’s the longest bridge of its type in Europe. Do t ask me what that type is though.
