There were rumours Phillips had a knock when he signed but I assumed it was bullshit. Scales is miles off the required level and he seems to know it and you can see him panic when he gets the ball.

But with the run of injuries to centre back it can’t be helped.

The Turnbull one is more frustrating. We’ve added Bernardo now but presumably he needs to get match fit. And Hatate being injured doesn’t help but we shouldn’t have been one injury away from starting Turnbull in a game like this. Iwata seems to have disappeared completely from the setup.

A nice pair of goals from Turnbull today would help matters of course.
