Heâs back in training.
Performances from the knock out stages on are what really matters. I think performing very well in the big day should earn a few extra stripes, but not to the degree it does. Itâs reasonably common for lads who were fair to middling most of the year to get an award based on one CP performance.
The awards are a farce and always will be until there is an equitable amount of games. Then a formal system could be put in place where a top 5 players get points on a weighted system each game. Voted for by either a panel or managers.
This then could be added to a GPA vote at the end of the year.

Like they do in Aussie rules I think there is a similar system
More interesting are the couple. Of journoâs who lurk here.
Ya, but an improved version.
Any All Ireland medalists? There is definitely one person who played IC football.
2 former inter county minor footballers too at least
And at least one current intercounty hurlers boyfriend.
who currently works in the media?
FFS, playing minor football for Limerick and Wexford pre-2010 canât count. They wouldnât have beaten top schools teams.
There is a former Senior hurler and footballer here for sure from other counties. And I know there is former Cork Minor hurlers and footballers, Cork U21 dual players and a well known former senior hurler members here.
One multiple All Ireland medalist.

Tell that to Margot Kidder and Danny Bonaduce
No. Theyâre former players who are still well known or theyâre former players who are not.
Things, places and people can be formerly well known.
How many players would you have recognised well 10/20/30 years ago, that youâd struggle to name now if shown an old photo.
