Yep.
And the Keeper plays CB or CF for his club?
Can Clare make a quether
Yes, mate.
The deeper squads aspect could have two implications, the obvious one a better ability to deal with injuries, which will be a key thing over such a short time-scale, but also the ability to play horses for courses and tweak the style from round to round to suit the opposition. If you are playing a team who will sit back, do you play a half back line whose instinct is to hit it long or do you pick players who run the ball more to try and create overlaps and tease the defence apart? The days of the notion of your âchampionship 15â are numbered.
Going to be an enthralling summer. A pity Leinster is looking a little lopsided but the home & away provincials will be a great format I think.
I donât think hurling is that advanced yet. You get your best players on the field. I canât think of an example of an in form player on any team that doesnât start because he isnât suited to the opposition.
I think as the format develops year on year there youâll see tactical tweaking come into play more and more as teams become more familiar with each other and it will increase the tactical demands of coaches - under the previous system you could go a good few years without playing a team - for example I donât think Limerick have played Waterford since 2011.
Above all I expect it to suit team/s who move the ball the quickest, which is a fancy way for saying the best team, which means Tipperary.
An interesting point this, but bar Donoghue, Mick Church & Davy I donât think the other managers have the marbles or courage to change up teams for this.
For example, I donât see Cody changing it up Bar injuries for any other team as he hasnât the depth of quality he once had at his disposal.
Kiely or Meyler having the gumption to do it at all is highly questionable.
Is there a huge need to do it? Cork more or less played a round robin last yr beating Clare WD and tipp with pretty much same game plan.
Itâs the number of games in such quick succession.
Even less likely to change approach
Wexford will win nothing this year
Weâve already won the prestigious Walsh Cup.
Iâd be very surprised if they donât win either the league or Leinster
I think the round Robin will be great. I also think itâll suit limerick who have a deep squad. Clare are very quiet. Cork need a firm pitch. Waterford will be hard beat. Tipp are favourites.
Itâs tipp and two others for me. Hopefully limerick will be one.
Didnât we all agree that the league is meaningless this year given that itâs basically a warm up to another league which in itself is a warm up to the real thing? None of the managers outside of Davy seem like they give a fuck?
Jesus.
Cadogan is back a few weeks and is already probably as good as Mccarthy.
The rest is fair enough.
Only Myler has spent 4 months saying he is doing exactly thag.
Davy
Do they?
