How did you win from 8 points behind?

One would assume that everyone was on an equal footing given that there were only two games. Otherwise what was the point of having a top 4 (or 5!) in the playoffs? In that scenario, someone 8 points behind couldn’t win even if the final was included.

This has been utterly botched from start to finish by Joe Roaster.
