I wish I was a true Tipperary person

It seems to me the smell of the brits never left them after they left. Their close association with them down the centuries left them with an inferiority complex about themselves where they never felt that they were quite right, they never fitted in. When they would look over at Tipp they just shuddered with humiliation and inadequacy. They’ll never get over it you know.

I was chatting to an elder lady in Rochdale yesterday who’s father was with Dan breen when he was ambushed. He used to sleep in her parents house and she can remember picking up his gun off the bedside table and getting shouted at when she was 4.
