I won't be able to drink to spread covid

Arthur Maynes. Interesting spot. My first visit.

Wouldn’t have thought twas a place for pints

No, you are right. I doubt Maynes is a pint cathedral. Just had a time-killing pot of tea in there.

There is some selection of excellent pubs in Cork Cjty centre within a few minutes of each other. The Castle Inn is lit far too bright, though, which is a pity.

Opens into a live music venue called crane lane at night, always a few different live artists on the go there

There sure is. I wouldn’t be a massive fan of the Castle Inn. Dennehys on the coal quay around the corner is a nice spot. You should have called to Callanans whilst you were supping, not too far from the hi b across the river

Charlie’s and Sin É would be my untraditional choices in Cork.

I also have a soft spot for the Wash based purely on great nights I had there 20 years ago.

Cork is a grand spot to be fair

It is. Great city. Savage craic for a night away.

Thanks very much. I will investigate those two spots next time there. I know Callanan’s but not Dennehy’s (which looks class).

Someone said to me Dan Lowery’s is also a good old school spot.

It is indeed…the Shelbourne is next door to it and that is a very busy bar but a great pub with great pints and excellent staff
