IAAF world indoors Sopot 2014

Im settling into Eurosport’s quite excellent evening’s coverage of day 1 that is taking place in Sopot, Poland. The Eurosport commentators are quite superb, i dont actually know the names of these guys but they have been commentating for years and are top notch. These 2 lads are specialist athletics commentators, they do have another fella who commentates on every single sport from ski jumping to football (he presents eurogoals) to tennis and can interpret about 15 different languages, he is never on athletics duty however.

The 1500m heats are now on here for ladies,
the lads have just called out Olympic silver medallist , Gamze Bulut from Turkey who has just come last in her heat, either she has a very bad flu or else this run confirms suspicion she was doping in 2012 according to the boys, the lads certainly have no problem calling it here, they wished Abede Aragawi an Ethiopian running for Sweden no “goodwill”…

Claire Tarplee from South Dublin, Dundrum AC who also holds British citizenship (suprise, suprise) came last in her heat, not worth a picture either

BUT
here is heptathlete Nadine Broersen

Veronica Campbell Brown and Shelly Anne Fraser Price cruise thru their 60m heats, under an unfortunate cloud of suspicion according to the lads

some nice messing from the Jamaican 4x4 relay team, taking the piss out of the serious, stony faced Polish lads, ive never seen a 4x4 indoors on a 200m track, this could be chaos id say

the poles surge into the lead…

wow… here come the USA

USA
Jamaica
Poland
