This is something ive thought about quite a lot. i would name my horses around a theme, much like the potts do. Intially i was going to name them after famous economists, but when i do get in to ownership (someday i hope), i think i’ll name my horses around things associated with the boston redsox, such as fenwaypark, lansdowne street, pesky’s pole, the green monster, Yaz etc.

Mates of mine tried to call their dog Big Papi but it got lost in transmission and they ended up with ‘Big Pipi’. They were not amused.

Our new bitch is called ‘New Girlfriend’ We were badly stuck for a name obviously. It does give us an opportunity to overuse gags like ‘I’m off to see the new girlfriend tonight’ etc. etc.
