Got in a few cans and set by the window watching it… When the eye of the storm passed over I went out onto the front lawn and it was some feeling, the eerie silence and peacefulness of it… The few cans added to it mind.

Update. We’ve been evacuated (last people to leave the hotel in a ‘we’ll be grand’ attitude) but then the Governor called a mandatory evacuation so out it was. Currently trying to find a hotel in NC for the weekend. There’s nothing to be had anywhere that’s not a bed bug riddled kip at the side of a freeway. Raging I’m going to be missing the good shit

Haven’'t visited this thread since May.
After getting my head around my guardianship situation, I was then able to turn my attention to work.
They have tried to fire me two times, the first of which I believe led to the other situation. As any sympathetic employer would do they have harrassed, bullied, undermined me, treated me with complete disrespect and then tried to fire me again.
I compiled the evidence, highlighted what needed to be, got the stack of about 30 pages, brought it to to a great Union guy in the office who took 10 minutes to look at them and quite quickly confirm all the things I have said above. And that their process was not even technically allowed.
So incompetent is the HR Manager that she didn’t know this. I had been too grief-stricken to fight back until today but I did, in some style I feel, and I would predict now that it’ll actually be the person who has tried to fire me and who has made my life almost intolerable who will lose their job.
And that’s pretty fucking sweet.
