Nothing beats playing in a game like that.
Ya, bar the result it was enjoyable. All shook hands afterwards and that was it.
As it should be.
lads, whilst putting my u-13s thru their paces yesterday morning one lad got a knock and went down like Pa Cronin rolling around the sand or grass as we call it hereā¦ now these kids are all in purple and yellow boots and think they are Christano Ronaldo with the hair and the whole lot, I went over and told him to get on with it ( it was a nasty enough tackle but these lads are playing at a high level and they need to get used to it, also they ball was won), he dusted himself down, hobbled about ( everything is like u see on TV with these kids, they even want the ball out of play) and then went back to outside rightā¦ anyway his ould fella approached me roaring and took him offā¦ i was a little taken aback, anyone ever had this issue before? should i drop the kid?
Drop the little prima Donna then drop his aul lad with a slapā¦I know the type of little fuckers you are dealing with, I had to walk away from the u11 team a few years ago, kids wouldnāt listen, ya canāt raise your voice and an army of mammys on the sideline, itās a no win situation, I shudder to think the sissy boys this country is producing more interested in their hair, diamond earing and fancy boots, start crying and running to their mammys if a look sideways is given
Yeah, albeit and under 8s where you have to be more sympathetic . Follow up with a call or txt enquiring as to his well being
Felt like that last sun, junior c. Iād recommend paracetamol and ventolin combined with late evening alcohol
While the Wexford dream has died, Iām booked in for hip surgery in September.
I made the call despite being somewhat unnerved by lots of testimonials on different forums.
Iām guessing the silent majority were happy with surgery and itās those who didnāt find any improvement post-operation that take to railing against it online.
Iām now fully clear that Iāll be fucked for weeks after it and Iāll have to work hard to recover properly.
Iām also continuing to put in the work before surgery in order to have a better chance of a smoother recovery. Iāll be quitting alcohol from 8th August until after my operation too.
My wonderful mother is adamant that I must recuperate in Wexford initially. Sheāll help me put on my socks and clean my balls.
Iām over a week into my pre-surgery alcohol ban and I wasnāt tempted by the free bar in Croke Park yesterday. Iām in a zone now and that extends to my fitness work too. The harder I push myself before the operation, the quicker Iāll recover. Iāve now progressed to squatting and lunging with 5 (five) kg weights and let nobody here think I couldnāt go as high as 7 (seven) kg if I wanted to. Hashtags: strong, pumping iron, muscles.
Take your gym monkey stories to the fitness thread and donāt be clogging up here with stories of you pumping iron and looking at yourself in the mirror wearing speedos and a vest
Bartosz, please make me your first point of reference for all hip surgery questions. I am an expert in the field.
Thanks, pal.
Reattaching torn cartilage, removing loose bodies and, worst of all, shaving off some of the socket to allow the ball and socket to interact properly/neatly from now onā¦how sore will it be, mate? Will I need help taking a shit? Will I require crutches for days or weeks?
Take the offending oul fella aside for a quick chat, soften him up with āyour young fellaās doing really well, but that tackle was nothing compared to what heās going to get at this level. I can tell if its serious, or if he can play on. You have to trust me. Heās going to have to get used to that kind of attention at this levelā. If he has a problem with it, drop the little fucker.
Our young fellaās U11ās have been playing scummy Sydney teams for three years now got a few frights at how dirty they were at the beginning, but theyāre battle hardened now and all the parents know not to go crying to coach when little fella ends up rolling around after (yet) another late tackle. Start of the season, this little fucker from Sydney Olympic (Greek club), long curly hair with band, $250 boots, walks up to our CB Troy, an 11 year old kid I wouldnāt mess with. āIām going to snap your ankleā he says to the bemused Troy. āIāll fucking snap youā was the retort. Little prick didnāt go near any of our lads for the whole game, which Fitzy Jnr spent pissing himself laughing in at right back after witnessing that exchange. A couple of years ago they would have been scared shitless and gone into their shell, but theyāre being coached to stand up and look after each other. A little bit of gamesmanship and street smarts goes a long way even at this age.

Aboy the Fitzy
@myboyblue and the screaming mary brigade trying to take over juvenile GAA would have wanted little Troy suspended for standing up for himself.
Hows the bab going mate? Sleeping well?
Ya great. A bit restless last night, but only woke once the previous 3 nights.
Youāre off to a flyer so. Long may it continue.

I forgot what a sanctimonious cunt you are. Cheers for the reminder.

I had all of the above done bar removing loose bodies.
It will not be very sore, I would rate my pain levels at 3/10 for the week following. I was on crutches for 3/4 days. You will not need any assistance in the bathroom.
