There are more Irish footballers playing abroad than Italians. Given population sizes that is surely the most mental fact you’ll hear all day

Where else are they going to play?

Not really. Sure all the Italians are living with Momma and Papa

It would seem the only reason for an Italian to get out of the country is to open a chipper in Ireland.

Sure any fella that’s any good at soccer football has to leave the country to get a decent game. That includes the 6 farmers who went to New Zealand and ended up kicking ball.

It’s not surprising that Ireland has a lot of players playing abroad mate. It’s suprising Italy has so few. Given there are 12 times more of them than us

Think all of the 2006 World Cup winning squad were all Italian based and 22 our of the 23 at 2010 World Cup

We’re a nation of emigrants. Albeit, 110 of those 139 only made it as far as Belfast or Bournemouth.

I know they are not a soccer football nation, so congrats to that one Indian fella out of 1.3 billion who has forged a career kicking ball in Indonesia.

Or obtain a degree in forklift technology.

How is that determined?
How big an area does it have to be before it’s marked as no one living there?

It is made up of 1km grids, assume that if the grid does not have people living in it then it is marked red

Wonder how it compares to other countries.
