I put in many lawns when I was younger, typically in June. You’d want the soil temperature at least 7 or 8 degrees and be at that for 2 continuous weeks to see best results. I need to put one in a new house we bought there a few months ago and hope to get around to it in May or June.

Best time to set a lawn is March. The grass seeds will germinate and grow at a faster rate than the weeds. Plenty of moisture in the soil. Giving you a healthy lawn.

A lawn set in June will need to be watered constantly, perhaps twice a day depending on the weather. Otherwise it will fail.

You can also set a lawn in September as it’s still warm enough and moisture is returning to the soil. They also say some weeds don’t germinate in late autumn but grass will.

So you’ve missed the boat.
