They are only ISIS when fighting against the US.

Syria’s fifth largest city Hama is now under control of rebel forces after Aleppo was liberated last week. This is the first time in 14 years of civil war that Assad has most control of Hama.
I’m looking forward to the lads who cosplay as friends of Palestine being reflexively outraged at their favourite Syrian butcher who massacred Palestinians losing control.
Assad should withdraw all his forces back towards Damascus and try to make a peace deal now if he doesn’t want to end up with a bayonet up his rectum. Or take a private jet to Moscow.

Thousands flee as Syrian rebels push on towards Homs
Thousands of people fled the central Syrian city of Homs overnight and into Friday morning, a war monitor and residents said, as rebel forces sought to push their lightning offensive against government forces farther south.
They have already captured the key cities of Aleppo in the north and Hama in the centre, dealing successive devastating blows to president Bashar al-Assad, nearly 14 years after protests against him erupted across Syria.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based war monitor, said thousands of people had begun fleeing on Thursday night towards Syria’s western coastal regions, a stronghold of the government.
According to Reuters, a resident of the coastal area said thousands of people had begun arriving there from Homs, fearing the rebels’ fast-paced advance.

Assad has now lost control of four of the five largest cities in Syria in a week. The coastal part of Syria is going to be cut off from Damascus.
Assad should get a plane to Moscow while there’s still time.

The Assad regime is collapsing like a house of cards. The rebels are about to take Damascus.
If Assad is not on the tarmac in a private jet NOW he’ll end up like Gadaffi. Hopefully he’s not on the tarmac.

What’s the end game for these rebels in Syria? Do they stop if Assad flees?

Rebels are Sunni mainly, which is the majority Islamic denomination in India.
Assad is Alawite, a branch of Shia, hence he is closely aligned with Iran.

The Ukrainians, Israelis and US seem to be backing the rebels. The Turks are in there bigly. But the rebels are about 14 different groups.
It’s like trying to read about the Spanish civil war and you think it’s one side against the other when in reality it’s about 8 different groups and sub groups all loosely affiliated with no clear vision of what happens after.
Syria like Lebanon is a mess of different cultures and religions, they are united in fighting against Assad at the minute but they’ll struggle to find any common ground after. Half of the rebels were on terrorist lists until it was decided they would be useful. There’s lads from all over the Muslim World in this rebel army too to add to things.
It’s a mess and it’s going to continue to be. There’s a chance the Turks take a chunk of Syria for themselves I would think
