I think SF have to go in this time. THereās enough of them who really want to Iād imagine (those who are newish to the party and surfed in on the wave of anti establishment sentiment.) Also, I think the electorate will get pretty pissed off wwith them if they donāt go in. So itās about who they go in with. And even though I hate them, itās FG for me. FG are open in what they stand for, big business. They are also shit at hiding their corruption. FF on the other hand are the slimiest slĆbhĆn cunts this country has ever produced. They need 20 years in opposition to root out their corruption and evil, literally by death.

Possibly, (he certainly should be) but he had a fair gap over his rivals last time I think and thereās a fair amount of toffy-nosed cunts that will vote for him because he has the same accent and writes for the Indo.
SF are now too big to be a fringe protest party . Either the seek to be in government next time out or they are in big danger of being seen as ā dukes of York ā .
The likes of Mary Lou , Pearse Doherty , O broin will soon become weary of constant opposition and worse their base may get weary .

Leo fucking loves being Taoiseach. Not the actual hard work of running the country but the trips abroad and representing Ireland. Making meaningful speeches too. Heāll get into bed with anyone to keep that. And he can sell it as Ireland being progressive.
If SF managed to implement 20% of their policies at the expense of the FG big business ethos Ireland would be in a much better place. My fear is that SF is full of idealists who havent a fuck how things work and would get bogged down very quickly when shit started to hit fans all around them. But Ireland desperately needs a solution to itās current housing problems and the current/future social problems they are creating.
Sinn FĆ©in are a party of questions not answers. Same as all of them really. Once they get in the civil servants will tell them what to do like always
I think SF have a core of 5-7TDs worth their salt and who wont buckleā¦ the new emerging SF is young and has a lot to learn but the main players have the back bone and the nous to get shit done. Different ball game when in power and the minority party tho.

Iād agree. A lot of em havenāt ever had to fight for seats either and are afforded a free ride in terms of hiding or chipping in with an odd quote or claim about an issue. But all these things are cyclical. They may not yet feel the pinch in the next election but in the one after that If they are seen not to be doing the job they will be fucked out.
FF face a similar problem in a way in that their core vote was worth a 20% headstart to any gimp running under their logo. THat advantage is literally dying off and individual candidates will have to be a lot better/hardworking themselves in the future. It can only be a good thing.
