Thereās an element of that but thereās also what Iām talking about there in avoiding decisions because you donāt want to be a headline. They recently raised semi State CEOs salaries and they had to because the jobs just were not attractive for the shit you get with it.

Ireland doesnt have too many civil servants, the problem is Ireland has too many useless civil servants. The level and quality of service is extremely poor in comparison to the head count and salary costs. Plenty of people within the civil service doing great jobs and trying to improve service but are weighted down by useless cunts who know if they do nothing then nothing will be done
People donāt understand what Irish neutrality means. It means we donāt join mutual defence pacts, thatās all. We can cooperate with others and in every peacekeeping mission we are in we are obviously working with other armies.
I was listening to Drivetime or whatever it called there in the evening.
Katie Hannon was grilling the Education Minister Hildegard Naughton about the changes to the Leaving Cert maths thatās proposed and the resignations of 2 eminent scholars from the panel charged with finding the optimum resultā¦
Hildegard seems to be a testy enough lady whoās attitude seemed to be Iāve said what I felt and no amount of probing is dragging me in deeper.
Perhaps there was simply disagreement within the panel and perhaps those that resigned preferred to take āa standā than actually come to a compromise??
They gave chapter and verse on their reasons for resignation all over the news yesterday. Seemed pretty convincing to me, you can look it up.

Itās unlikely thereās anything to find, sheās dour enough and lacking any natural charm but Iād say politics is her be and end all.

I remember telling the lads in payroll that I was leaving a role with a hefty shift allowance for a promotion that didnāt have one and was conscious that it could be a situation where my pay could be messed up. I fired off an email outlining same and got the smarmiest āyeah we know all about pay here mateā type response ever.
3 weeks later I was informed that I was overpaid due to an error and they needed it back.
