We need to put these lads under pressure.
Quite enough build up all week but itās such a big game. Win and weāve a cracking chance of qualifying, or at least getting a play off.
Just worry about the lack of goals in this Irish team. Robbie had been on the wane for a while but he was such a reliable mainstay of the side for a good decade and a half.
The game is about
Being effective
Being aggressive
Winning the ball
Getting it on with the play
Weāll Put 'em Under Pressure.
McGeady will never start a game for Ireland again.
Iām a bit worried about how confident everyone is. Weāll probably dominate this game, but where do the goals come from and Austria, while still a bunch if overrated Nazi wankers, are still capable of playing decent football and our defending is error prone at times (to put it politely).
Jeff Hendrick needs to step.up.in this game, he is a very talented footballer with great athletic ability, but he drifts out of games and goes missing at times. He shouldnāt. He should be dominating games, running the show. He is an important player for us and needs to start showing leadership.
Big game for Harry Arter as well, he can really stake a claim to a permanent starting position and provide real competition in the 6 or 8 position to Whelan and (when heās back, McCarthy).
If we take our chances we could hammer them. But Iāll go.with a 2-0 win, without being overly confident about it.
Iāll be busting heads in the East stand if anyone wants to meet at halftime for a pint.
PS we will win 2-0 or 3-1
ill look out for a lad dressed up as a leprechaun with a broad tipp accent
Iāll bust your fucking head with a hammer.
Thatās what Iām saying. A leprechaun outfit and an inflatable hammer
Popped down to watch my little nephew play in the Mini World Cup finals day at Wexford Albion earlier and noticed Kevin Doyle in the match programme:
On the way back up for this eveningās match now. I didnāt realise that Austria are so depleted.
Looking forward to watching the 2nd half of this once the more important matter of Galway vs Mayo has finished.
Former London GAA star Lloyd Colfer on the same team
Torrential rain, thunder and lightening in Dublin 4 at the moment.
