Go way out of that you. The only reason you don’t want Rafa is because he won a Champions League at Liverpool. That in itself speaks of the calibre of manager in this instance. Who would you rather? Phil Neville?
Rafa isn’t the manager he was 15-18 years ago but he’d still be a mammoth improvement on Stephen Kenny. He’s a brilliant tactician and the short windows might suit him in that he’d be less likely to wear players down with his attention to details. A decent club manager generally makes an excellent international one of late as we’ve seen with the likes of Roberto Mancini. Roberto Martinez acquiring the Portugal job highlights the dearth of top international managers. We’d be steeped to have Rafa.
