Ireland vs Finland/England

A sobering day for Paddy. Back to fanatically following our English clubs sides next week.

I’m not tuned in this evening but it sounds like the time has come to pick up the phone and get Del Boy back.

A result that was needed. Lads kidding themselves that we were better than what we are. Maybe now they’ll realise it.

Congrats to Collins on his motm

2 steps forward and 1 backwards all things considered.

Delighted for you @ChairmanDan. Your sweet chariot is swinging at a historically low ebb and I’d say you needed that. Congratulations

A load of things conspired against them there (5 goals mainly) but that was really a case of the small team getting absolutely no breaks & being officiated differently. Going 1-0 down & losing a man in effectively the same play made it a mountain to climb. Wouldn’t read much into what happened after that, even though the scoreboard analysts will be quick to chime in. One you need to take, put down to experience & learn from. The two leg relegation play off will be good for the team’s development actually.

That’s unfair.

I could see a lot of progress in the 1st half.
Mostly well organised but a concern would be that they were vulnerable from corners. They started the 2nd half cold.
Relegation playoff will be good experience but theyre not guaranteed to win it. Slovakia might still be ahead of them.

I’d be hoping that it’s Kosovo, Armenia or Bulgaria instead.

They’ve got strengths as a team and can play a bit but they’re ultimately just not a great passing team because they don’t have the central midfield. A guy like Duda for Slovakia would be great for them.

Will Kosovo walk off if they’re losing?

Apart from Kelleher we’ve no top class players for now.

I didn’t see the game. Was there enough in it for Paddy to claim a moral victory?

Definitely.

Lolz

Few lads were getting very giddy at half-time because Ireland were holding England C to a draw

Collins and Ferguson are good. O’Shea is decent. Sammy also decent. Have high hopes for Moran.
