Ireland vs Finland/England

Will the Doc come back into the starting XI?

Gav Cummiskey in the paper of record suggested the below as possible team. Gav of course is a rugby man at heart.

Would Mannibg be better option ahead of O’Dowda?
Think the Dentist might start Parrot

Kelleher (Liverpool); Doherty (Wolves), Collins (Brentford), Scales (Celtic), O’Dowda (Cardiff City); Cullen (Burnley), Knight (Bristol City); Szmodics (Ipswich Town), Azaz (Middlesbrough), Johnston (WBA); Ferguson (Brighton).

Thought about heading to the Finland game but 55 quid is a bit steep.

And the last train is 10 past 10.

I’m almost afraid to price a hotel

Were you seeing 55? Jesus they are

There’s a mountain on toutless going for less than half that

Will tip in with junior tonight now the weather is a bit milder. Should be beating these lot again. I’d fear for the Doc’s reception if he gets brought on

€55 is cheap for international professional sports. You’d pay double that for a stick hurling match between two packs of muldoons in Croke Park in July.

All Ireland tickets are 100, so we’re not quite there. Yet.

The Doc starts!

Come in @myboyblue

Id have given you the season ticket lad not heading up tonight, 230 for the renewal paid it last week. Great seats 3 rows behind the back of the home end goals.

Ah the train situation has it moot anyway but sound

Ya the trains a nightmare they only put on an extra one if it’s a big name opponent, got the late one home for France and England matches recently. Driving home is a dose afterwards you are already bolloxed and not back until nearly 2am.

I called Szmodics to get off the mark for Ireland in the last game &…I was wrong. But he’s playing more centrally tonight after doing a solid enough job off the left in his previous games. I think he’ll score. Hopefully he’ll link up well with Evan Ferguson. It seems like a very attacking line up with those two & Festy & Mikey on the flanks. Most sides these days have 3 in centre midfield so one of the front two will probably be tasked to drop off a bit.

Sounds like shit seats mate

A good point. Funnily enough it seems young lads on LOI underage teams really enjoy being part of school soccer teams and the togetherness that brings. Maybe a unique experience for them playing with the lads that they’ve grown up with.

That craic of switching clubs even applies to the lowest tiers of Muldoon leagues around the country.

I like the Ireland team that’s been picked tonight. Szmodics appearing to be in a central position the main reason. I saw a bit of O’ Dowda playing for Cardiff from a vantage point in a pub that weekend. I’d prefer to see Manning or Cirkin in there.

Sure how can you tell from the couch bud?

Livescore have us as a classic 4-4-(fucking) 2

That game was in Greece I’m fairly sure. I only saw snippets of the home game against Greece under Kenny but I’m fairly sure he got sent off in the 2-1 in Athens.

Signing in from Lansdowne

As is my normal match day routine I was going to get the escalator when entering the west stand
A steward was advising that unfortunately escalators are out of order, a “wag” quipped “I bet they will be fixed for the rugby tomorrow” - he is almost certainly right

Are we a 4-2-3-1?
Worry would be we get out numbered in midfield

The Finnish ultras don’t seem to have travelled in great numbers

Irelands form line: LLLWL
Finlands form line: DLLLL

One for the neutrals here

I stand corrected.

It’s setup up for a Doherty goal. He’d score it just to annoy everyone
