Based out foreign, in my 40s. No GAA club within a few hours of me, but saw a local cricket club. Obviously set up by “ex pats”. Was thinking of heading down for an auld swing of a bat and lob of a ball. I do feel like I’d be selling out though, and could be seen as a traitor by the folks back home, but a game would be a day out anyhow, and would most likely involve a few beers and a chat in the Queen’s English… Had a gander at their FB page, and it looks like a mix of blokes involved, doesn’t look like it’s all posh blokes.
You should be able to bowl a few overs of medium pace bowling or gentle spin while flailing with the bat as if you’re beating a mattress. Worth it for the social aspect
