Interesting. They are on at 6am.

That was easy. Watched the chase. Stirling was hitting the ball wherever the fuck he wanted. Some awful bowling and an absolute road of a pitch.

Ireland beat Holland in Twenty20 qualifier
Friday, March 23, 2012 - 09:58 AM
Ireland are a game away from qualifying for the World Twenty20 after beating Holland by seven wickets in Dubai today.
William Porterfield’s side enjoyed their second comfortable win in as many days as they chased down 114 for seven with 20 balls to spare.
Kevin O’Brien was the star of today’s success as he claimed two for 17 before completing the chase with an unbeaten 30 from 22 balls.
The Irish will meet Namibia tomorrow with the winner earning the double prize of a place in the final, against Afghanistan, as well as a place at the World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka later this year.
Ireland’s bowlers had set up yesterday’s 10-wicket win over Canada and after Porterfield again opted to field first, they put their team in charge with some stifling bowling.
Only Alexei Kervezee was able to break the shackles, hitting 56 from 48 balls, with Tom Cooper (28) the other batsman to reach double figures.
Opener Paul Stirling then made sure there were no slip-ups in the chase as he made 33 from 26 balls before O’Brien finished off the job alongside Ed Joyce (25 not out).

I watched a share of it this morning, harmless enough but we should be beating Holland by more than 20 halls. Always looked comfortable however
Ah, 20 balls to spare is a fairly comprehensive victory in a T20. If pushed, they probably could have got there quicker too. The spinner did look like he had them in a bit of trouble, but the game was all but won at that stage.
What a great group of lads

Ireland barely needed half their overs to cruise to a nine-wicket victory over Namibia and book their place in the ICC World Twenty20 tournament in Sri Lanka this September.

Ireland restricted Namibia to just 94 for six, and then knocked off the required runs from 61 balls to reach the final of the qualifying tournament, in which they will play Afghanistan later today to determine which group they will play in.

A loss would see them face England in September. Ireland had lost by four runs to Namibia in the group stage of this competition.

But today’s result rarely looked in much doubt once Ireland began their reply as they knocked off almost a quarter of the required score in the first two overs.

They could not quite match their own achievement of twice chasing down targets without losing a wicket in this tournament as William Porterfield went for 20, caught well by Sarel Burger off Louis Klazinger.

However, fellow opener Paul Stirling carried Ireland through to the finish with 59 off 32 balls, smacking a four off the first delivery of the 11th over to win it.

Earlier, Ireland had taken wickets at a steady clip to prevent Namibia building any rhythm.

Trent Johnston accounted for openers Raymond van Schoon (1) and Louis van der Westhuizen (14) and when Craig Williams became the first of Max Sorensen’s two victims, having made just three, Namibia were on 25 for three with seven overs gone.

They continued to score at well under a run a ball as Gerrie Snyman made just 17 off 39 deliveries and Sorensen then had Burger caught for 20 - helping him to figures of two for eight off his four overs.

Ian Opperman did his best to up the scoring with an unbeaten 26 off 15 balls, including one six, late on, but Namibia were only delaying the inevitable.
Smashing performance from the bowlers again.
That was more like it
Just finished watching this. Great performance by the bowlers, especially Sorensen. Amazing figures from him, 2-8 in his four overs. Once they got Van Der Westhuizen out early on, Namibia didn’t look comfortable at all. Paul Stirling is a super cricketer.
Final starts at 2pm. Winner faces Australia and Windies. Loser faces England and India. Half hope we lose so we can get a crack at England.
Well done Ireland.
A real demolition job on Namibia who’ve given Ireland a bit of bother lately and seem to be improving.
Afghanistan are 78-4 after 11 overs in the final. Being pegged back somewhat after a very fast start.
105/4 after 15 overs. We’ll have a bit of a chase here - possibly something like 150.
A very good 50 by Shahzad - the fat little man.
Shahzad has 67 from 50 balls and he’s knackered. He’s cramping in a T20 game.
132-6 after 18 overs. Ireland’s ground fielding and catching continues to be excellent.
Lack some bowling depth though.
Shahzad being rolled off the park after making 77 from 57 balls.
138/7 after 19 overs. Great over by Sorensen.
12 runs off Johnston’s last 2 balls.
They finished on 152/7.
Ireland had reined them in over the last 3 overs so disappointing way to finish.
Should be a good chase now.
25/1 after 2 overs.
Porterfield gone already but Stirling bludgeoned 3 boundaries from the first 3 balls of the second over. 17 from it.
 He’s some fat bastad. Only half watching this now. Joyce gone. As long as Stirling is there we have a chance. Need one big partnership though.
A rubbish innings by Ed Joyce. Hogging the strike even though Stirling’s on fire at the other end. Going for big shots when he should have been taking singles to give the strike to Stirling and now he’s gone for 11 from 16 balls. 33/2 from 3.4 overs.
36 not out from 12 balls for Stirling.
54/2 after 5 overs.
