Irish soccerball nil - That boy Jinky will save us (Part 2)

That’s great stuff

Ogbene would offer a far better outlet up there rather than Hogan

Shut up Kenny you jinx :see_no_evil:

No worries for the Senior goal of the year this year anyway, plenty of nominations.

One year I think we just had the 1 goal was it.

It’s not a football crowd, that’s why.

What are they?

He can do it all, he’s Nathan Collins.

Mostly refugees, children, women. Like Lansdowne last week.

He beat three more players than Michael Owen beat for his goal against Argentina.

Jesus, 3 of the most deadly combinations when you factor in a few horns … :hear_no_evil:

Yup, as you can hear.

Six days ago we had a team of what looked like Phoenix Park players.

Now we’re playing like Brazil 1982.

I love football.

That was one of the best goals I have seen in a long while.

He’s going to be some player.

That was the greatest goal an Irish player ever scored.

The Spock effect

Are we confident there was more skill than luck from Collins in beating the last defender?

Yes

It’s the best goal I’ve seen since the last two goals Ireland scored.

It was far ahead of the Giggs goal against Arsenal. That was a pretty aimless run off a terrible pass in which one defender was like a turnstile and another defender literally fell over.

Collins’s shinny during the run was a deliberate piece of control, unlike Giggs. Collins’s finish was better.

Plus it was scored at the pinnacle of the international football calendar - in a competitive international in June of a World Cup year.
