Iâm feeling very gay and festive with the excitement of the weekend ahead.
Aside from the âpray out the gayâ caricature arguing the point here, this is a really interesting case study into what is allowed and what is not allowed and where the line is with the idea of people being afforded the right to have an opinion on anything anymore. Folau should have the right to have whatever opinion he wants. I may not agree with that opinion but he can have it. The line in the sand comes down to where you think he is inciting hatred and moving toward âhate crimeâ territory. I think this is short of that. Why these lads canât just shut the fuck up and keep whatever such beliefs private is beyond me but I digress.
In my opinion, Folau has a pretty strong case here. The devil is in the detail around what stipulations he had specifically built into his contract(and if those stipulations are legal). And you add into that the knowledge that Folau must have had around the Qantas Wallabies being sponsored by, you know, Qantas and their CEO being openly gay. Youâre really just asking to be fired if you have specific stipulations built into your contract and slap your top sponsor in the face like that.
A really interesting multilayered fistfight between old school religion pairing with free speech against capitalism paired with LGBT.

Youâre having it both ways here a bit. His views were only hate filled if you are a Conservative organised religion devotee who believes in hell as a thing. If you arenât such a person, you would dismiss his statement as nonsene. If you are, youâd believe him.

The homosexual community have a long history of being oppressed and more significantly, facing violence just for being themselves.
I personally wouldnt bat an eye lid at something a deranged religious fanatic would say, but I havent faced violence or had to live a secret life in the way others have.
it really comes down to this fella being as thick as two planks ans whether we should be punishing those with mental disabilities or helping them along in life.

Excuse me if I think getting called a few mean words is fairly miniscule. Do they have a killing field of gays? Or is it just that their feelings were hurt?

We were all oppressed as Irish one time or another. Germany oppressed Europe and is still doing so. People should be allowed to speak out on whatever they want. Youâve been talking of been vocal in the terrace this Sunday, hypocrisy at its highest.

I support a team who say decades of the rosary, oppose gay marriage and try to better themselves as human beings through Christianity.
