Do no harm to a few fellas in this world.

Fuck me. Most likely unrelated, there’s been as much data I’m told created in the last five years, than there was in all time prior to that. The system is going to hit the wall re power, not just in Ireland. The computer science lecturer reckons we’ll pay a bigger premium as users once we hit the wall. It might persuade a few of the ‘objecting is my constitutional right’ fellas that nuclear could be the answer, though lots of arguments made against our suitably to such a solution.
Anyway, not looking good for Bezos anyway. Probably not going to get any better with the layoffs announced either.

How so?

I was only looking at the multiple images for supplier invoices last week.

I reckon there are at least 6 file copies out there in storage for every supplier invoice for a small business using dext and bright books with invoices coming in on a Gmail account.

if the MTBF figures for AWS are starting to set off alarm bells, it could scare off customers that can’t afford to sacrifice high availability. I’d imagine they advertise 5 9’s of availability? Could be open to SLA breaches if they dip under.

If I was getting the chop at AWS, I’d leave a few bombs in the code…or maybe just a couple of critical processes not documented or handed over.
