A poppy is quite an offensive symbol given the heroin problem the UK faces.
Reminds me of an awkward situation a pal of mine in Boston faced when his daughter was dating a recovering heroin addict.
They decided to invite him to the house the day after Thanksgiving. For some cold turkey.
