Joe Canning, Unquestionably the GOAT

Kelly got 3 from play off Delaney in 09 his best ever performance in my view.

Corbett got 4 in the same game

Lar only had three outstanding years though and outside that was inconsistent

Lar was better than Kelly from 2007 onwards and was cursed with injuries before then.

He also had a great second half in the 2001 All Ireland.

Dunno. Kelly “marked” ollie Canning pretty well.

He got none from play in 2010 or 2011. Canning in his prime got Galway to finals, something Kelly didn’t manage.

Lar had phenomenal pace . Eoin wasn’t gifted with similar athleticism . From 2003 to 2007 Eoin Kelly played in average Tipp teams .

Much better Galway teams. How many times has Joe Canning even been Galway’s best player in a game? Not that many

Joe makes others great.

Yes they even below average and he kept Tipp relatively competitive with the odd win against Limerick, Clare and Waterford.

He was never the same player after 2006 bar the 09 final.

Lars longevity was remarkable given his injuries during his early 20s.

Kelly was great but Corbett better IMO.

Can we bring the dumb rating back?

Let’s hope he delivers on it.

Agreed . 100 %. T

Corbett was HOTY once and nominated 3 times. Phenomenal achievement.

Kelly was never nominated.

A strong case can be made for Corbett.

HOTY and All Star Awards mean fuck all, thats been ascertained on here before. Any award that has an input from the likes of Hackie Jahill and Fohn Jogarty are laughing stock.

Corbett wouldn’t lace Kelly’s boots. Corbett had a number of unremarkable years with Tipp until he ended up playing in a side that suited him to a tee. (T?)

Would you fuck off - Corbett disgraced himself, his family, his club, his county and the sport of hurling in 2012.

The most important point scored yesterday was the very first one straight from the throw in. If Joe hadn’ got out of the couple of attempted headlocks to pop it over I’m not sure the rest of the lads would have had the balls and confidence to build up the early lead which was crucial. He set the terms of engagement right there. He’s a leader, didn’t miss a free all day(possibly one), and without any shadow of doubt the greatest since Cuchullín
