Eddie Hearn wanting to cream as much as he can out of it and everyone going mad with the government and the GAA.
No doubt this will be lost in the squealing.
"Hearn acknowledged that a lot of the additional event costs ā such as security and policing ā āare outside of the control of Croke Parkā, but added that āthereās a lot of costs that arenāt.ā
No mention of squeezing his own costs a little bit of course.
Iāll bet you itās more than a little. Eddie has a good reputation amongst fighters for paying what he owes.
So why is he looking for government assistance for a commercial event?
The reality is they wonāt sell 80,000 tickets. This is all a front. Otherwise theyād be talking to the Aviva or the RDS or something
Heās probably just saying he canāt do it at croker as things stand. If the govt want to sponsor it, then it can. I doubt Eddie much cares outside of wanting to host a big show.
Is there any way of linking this fight to a Garret Brooks concert?
Which would be the support act?
He was pleading for government support for his profit making event.
Mike Denver
Iād look on it more as oirish shrieking hysterically that it has to be at croke park, otherwise itās disrespectful or something, and the sums donāt add up. Eddie doesnāt want to end up paying for some bizarre notion of the Joe Duffy set. If itās purely commercial as you say, then let Eddie run it if he can, or not if he canāt. Simple.
Serrano wouldnāt make it out alive from Fortress Aughrim
GGA get millions from the downtrodden taxpayers to build a stadium with 3 sides
then overcharge a national hero who wants to rent it out
Is that Tallaght Stadium you are referring to?
the state owns tallaght stadium & people pay a fair rent to use it
what is happening here is worse, the state give millions to a non inclusive organisation who get to keep the stadium & overcharge if people want to rent it
Who is being excluded nowadays?
anybody who isnt ethnically Oirish
anybody who isnt a bead rattling papist
You forgot to add ācharity carpet baggingā to your description of the gaa there.
Thatās news to me.
Weāre all inclusive pal
