Return of the King…

@Malarkey are you on it??

Derek Lyng seems to be the heir apparent.

Not for me.We need a ruthless cunt and Derek simply isnt one.
All the ex players being banded about are just too nice, unfortunately.

That’s what I was thinking. Even when you look back that first interview with Cody after he lost in 1999 you could see that he was a serious individual who was not to be diced with. It’s hard to see those qualities yet in what’s currently available.

Apart from the obvious, and he seems a more rounded person than BC.
In truth, you’ll struggle to find anyone about who takes it as seriously.
Limerick are doing well as it’s their way out of Calcutta, but for normal counties, there’s simply more to life.

We can’t all have silver spoons in Diddlesbury

It will be very telling to see what Shefflin does going forward.
(That is if hes offered the job in the first place)

There’s no way in high heaven Henry is going for that job right now. Not a hope for another year minimum, possibly 2.

Probably not. There would be a fair auld difference in the mileage for a start.

You’d have to imagine he will see how things pan put in the short/medium term with all the change. Lyng could be the canary down the coal mine as it were.

His currency has never being higher. Stays with Galway and they have a poor year, the opportunity may not come along again. Id imagine the commute takes its toll, with a young family.

I’d say the past 12 months have been hellish. For his own sake, getting off that merrygoround for a bit will do him good. He can still pop in with a club team here or there if he needs a distraction, but the pressure, nah.

Id agree, but everyone is different and it maybe the release he needs.

He’s in with Thomastown for more potential disappointment this season.

You’ll not disappoint on that front I reckon.

Lyng could get Bonnar’d

In fairness I think Lyng knows what he’s doing.

Is he back?
I thought he wasn’t wanted back?

That’s what a panel told me a few weeks ago anyway.
Not sure about your second point. Any officials I had dealings with said it was all pretty amicable last Oct/Nov whenever it was.

It was more they were happy to let him go do his thing, but he feels he has unfinished business there.
The word is he’s not wanted anywhere in kk, but maybe that’s just smart talk…

We’d take him in Callan if he wanted a project. But, with his wife being from the town, that wouldn’t suit some (ffs)
